One of our favorite things about Glendive is that there are so many ways to make this community your own — you just have to know where to start.
Start With Us — We're Basically the Town Google
If you're new to town, here's something worth knowing: the Glendive Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture is a great first stop when you have a question.
Looking for a local business? Wondering who provides a certain service? Trying to find something to do this weekend? Have family coming to visit and need recommendations? Want to know how to get involved?
Ask us!
We sometimes joke that the Chamber is the town Google. We may not know every answer, but chances are we know someone who does.
The Chamber is a local nonprofit organization supported primarily through its members, programs and events. The organization supports local businesses, coordinates community events, connects people with resources and works on projects that help make Glendive a great place to live, work, visit and call home.
You may already recognize some of that work around town — including the flags along Merrill Avenue, community billboards and visitor signage, Reimagining Rural gatherings, community events and beautification efforts. The Chamber also serves as Glendive's local coordinator for the Montana Main Street Program, supporting continued investment and vitality in our downtown.
And then there's the fun stuff!
Some of the Chamber's biggest annual events include the Makoshika Basketball Tournament, Farm & Ranch Appreciation Banquet, Spring Fling and LeadHERship Summit, along with plenty of other community events and programs throughout the year.
Discover Glendive Is Part of the Chamber, Too!
Here's something even longtime residents may not realize.
Discover Glendive is the tourism and destination-marketing arm of the Glendive Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture.
The Chamber also operates Glendive's state-recognized Visitor Information Center, which isn't just for tourists! Our office is filled with maps, magazines, travel guides and information about Glendive, Southeast Montana, the rest of Montana and surrounding states.
Through Discover Glendive, we work to tell Glendive's story beyond our city limits and give people reasons to stop, stay and explore. That means sharing our outdoor recreation, attractions, history, events, local businesses and all the things that make this corner of Montana worth experiencing.
And if you live here, we hope you'll experience them too.
Sometimes being a tourist in your own hometown is the best way to remember just how much we have in our own backyard.
Find Your Place in Glendive
One of the best ways to make a community feel like your community is to get involved.
Glendive has an incredible variety of nonprofits, service organizations, clubs and community groups — many of which are also Chamber members and are always looking for people willing to share their time, talents and ideas.
Think about what matters to you.
Do you love working with kids? Animals? Sports? History? The arts? Helping families? Outdoor recreation? Community events? Beautification? Supporting veterans? Serving seniors?
There's probably a place for you.
If you aren't sure where to begin, reach out to the Chamber. Tell us what you're interested in, and we'll do our best to connect you with an organization that might be a good fit.
Shop Local (and Learn About Chamber Bucks!)
Getting to know Glendive also means getting to know the people behind our local businesses.
The Chamber operates Chamber Bucks, a local gift certificate program designed to keep dollars circulating right here in our community. Chamber Bucks can be used at participating Chamber-member businesses and make a great way to try someplace new, give a local gift or simply choose local first.
Every local purchase helps support the businesses that sponsor our events, employ our neighbors, donate to our organizations and continually show up for this community.
